06 HHR CEL not working

I have a 2006 HHR 2.4 Auto. All the gauges and lights work except for the Check engine light. When I turn the key on it doesn't light, I also had a MAF code (Chevy didn't plug in my MAF after an oil change...) yesterday and the light didn't come on. I opened up the cluster and didn't see any replaceable bulbs. Any suggestions??

And you remember the CEL working prior to the maintenance work?

The IP is a printed circuit board I believe with probably small LED's built in. However, someone else that has had the IP apart should be able to answer this.

I can't think of anything in an oil change that would be associated with a CEL, other than no oil.....but that is another story. Maybe some related wire was bumped, pulled, strained, broken. etc.

But I would contact the dealer regarding this.......if you are absolutely sure you had the light prior to the oil change and was not functioning directly afterward.

It wasn't working before. I noticed that from when i turned on the ignition, The CEL didn't light up. I just didn't think much of it until I had a code preventing my remote start and had no idea.

Then disregard everything I mentioned reagrding the dealer and wires, etc.

I'll raise the question to other members.......does the CEL have and isolated fuse, just to that circuit. Or would the other IP notification lights also not illuminate, if a fuse is blown.

Well, this is a new one for me.

But. Looking in the owners manual, I see the following in the underhood fuse box:
Fuse #56 Sensing and Diagnostic Module(SDM)

Might be worth a try to check that.

I'm wondering if the fuse was blown, how would he have been able to pull the 'MAF code'?

If that isn't it, it could be the IP itself, the LED may just be burned out and not illuminating during the start up "Self Check" sequence.

That unfortunately would require replacement of the IP itself, not an inexpensive proposition.

SDM is the Restraint system controller.
