07 2.2 upper chain guard bolts

07 2.2 upper chain guard bolts

Aka camshaft chain guard. Just replaced the head gaskets. The timing had already been done prior by the previous owner and it is still tight.

However it seems the 2 bokts to hold the guard in place have grown legs an walked away.

And google is really sucking at telling me what the specs are so I can hit the hardware store and get them.

Two bolts are stopping me from getting it finished.

Those two bolts might be down in the oil pan,
they are M6 X 1.00 clean the threaded hole and use a touch of loctite

Thanks. Got that taken care of and eberything back together.

Unfortunately she is not firing. Cranks but no fire.

Original issue was blown head gasket. And while ot was apart I checked the timing, head, valves, camshafts etc. All are good.

Replaced the junk battery, I can hear the fuel pump and shes got good pressure(and didnt even fire on starting fluid)

Cleaned all connections.

2007 2.2 automatic 207k miles

Seems the timing is off, double check the timing is fully lined up, and the camshaft sprockets are in the correct position
double check the ground wires, injectors wires

Timing looked good. If it had jumped it should have bent valves and other such signs.

All ground wires look good.....

Except this pesky bugger I just located that comes off the injector wires, but for the life of me i dont see where it would bolt to.

Hmm. A ground strap that's not grounded.
I would temporarily ground that (pair of jumper cables will work) to see if it will run. If so, then find a place to ground it permanently.

There should be a bolt on the end of the head for that ground. I think it grounds the plugs.
