08 HHR electrical

Does anyone have a link or a source to an electrical diagram for the 2008 HHR. I've been chasing gremlins. I don't want to spend $200 for a full manual. If not maybe someone will recognize a link on all these problems? Not working- no remote start, no speedo, power steering error on, no out door temp light, engine light on, stiff shifting. I have checked and reseated all the connectors on the bottom of the fuse block. I'm thinking its a bad ground but I don't now where to look.

Thanks

The no remote start and stiff shifting are probably a result of the check engine light code being thrown. Have you pulled the codes? List just the alphanumeric code, not the description which can be deceiving.

And to the forums!

x2 what he said. If you have an engine check light on - downloading the error code from it, is your first step. Without it you will be flying blind.

electrical

I'll have to borrow the code down loader again and repost. When I did it last time there were many errors and I was just overwhelmed. the problem started with a low battery I jumped the car in the winter and lost 3rd and 4th gear. After lots of trouble shooting I replaced the PCM and got 3rd and 4th back(must have hit it with the cable?), but now I'm left with other things not working properly. I would love to just have the dealer reprogram the ECM but I'm told they will only do that if it sold by them new.

Thanks

Have you checked the fuses for these various systems? You may have blown some fuses with an incorrect jumpstart.

You can buy a Haynes Manuel at most parts stores for about $20.00-&$25.00. It has wiring diagrams.

I just noticed the part about the PCM. What you did was short the module, the case is connected directly to ground. Who knows what other circuit is affected. Probably a ground wire got fried at least.

The PCM ground is on the top radiator support, driver side (G103). That point grounds a few other circuits.
