'08 that's DOA

Our 2008 had problems three weeks ago that had it sent to the dealer on a roll back. The problem started with it going dead for no reason, then proceeded to the esc coming and the car losing power while driving but not going dead, next day it went dead five times during a short 3 mile venture and luckily I made it back to work and called the wreacker. Well it didn't act up till the second day that the dealer had it, diagnosis a short in the fuse box under the hood. Then the bombshell........Sir there's not one available in the country!? Do what?????? Well our car is still waiting on the part and I'm asking other HHR owners to help chime in with any experiences similar to mine. What did you do and or what did your dealer do. TIA

Oh god, I feel for you. I am in the same boat of no parts in the country, do they at least have a manufactorer (sorry not awake enough to spell) of the part you are waiting for? I would ask the dealership to look into that firsts. If they do and you are just waiting for that, it seems since you were towed in you are under wanrenty in which case just drive your rental and wait.

Hopefully you are just backordered until they can make the part, if not in the same boat as me where they have no one making it and have to find a provider first. In which case file a complant with GM online, and it could be a while.

If no warenty, then take above advice, find one at a junk yard.

TY-there are 2 possible junction blocks(that's what GM calls the fuse and relay box) for your car.The difference is whether the power steering connection has a 6 or 8 millimeter stud(8mm is 1st design,6mm is second design). There is plenty of stock of the 1st design. The second design is the one that's hard to get -The stocking location is Lansing,Michigan and their information is confusing-they show no stock but yet they show overnight availability! There is a dealer in Texas that showed stock on the second design part as of yesterday(8-22-11) but be aware of the possibility that that dealer has it in special order for a customer of their own so it may not available to sell to another dealer.

My friend has an 04 Dodge Magnum and the computer took a dump. After much seaching, one was located in Oregon. There were only 6 in the USA. The 05 and later computers wouldn't work nor would computers from other Chrysler products. The manufacturers seem to modify/change components yearly . Is it to gouge the owners and making their car obsolete and directing them to purchase a new vehicle?
