And what don't you like about automatic headlights?

A lot of my driving here in the South is on 2 lane highways with lots of trees...which partially block the sunlight...which keeps my headlights on...which makes my DIC and radio indicators dim, which are hard to see when the sun is shining on them....

Really, sometimes it's 10:00am before the auto headlights will shut off...and I average from 800-1200 miles a week, easy.

DRLs do not have any control over this, even if you disable them. Dash lights, as well as the DRLs, are controlled by the sensor on the dash.

Correct about the DRL...but the auto headlights DO control this, that's what I was referring to.

I have noticed that some HHR's have the headlight as DRL and some have the turn indicator as DRL. I did not notice if they were LS, LT, or SS. Any Ideas?

2006 are the turn lamps and 2007 and newer are the headlamps.

I have an 06, and I like the running lamps more than the headlights being on as the DRL. Just my opinion, Todd (Uma)

So if you have a 2007 model, with auto headlamps, is there a way to "convert" to the 2006 parking lights? A lot of times, I just hit the fog light button...turns off the headlights, turns on the park and fog lights. Auto function still works.

I have an 06 LT, and fuse 31 is an empty slot. Does anyone know how to disable running lights on a non-SS version?
