09 HHR heater issue

I have not utilized the search on any related topics yet.

I have an 09 HHR. It was a handmedown from somewhere on the coastline of TX. For some reason the heater does not work. I inquired to the previous driver and they said they believe the heater was unhooked or something?

How do I go about hooking it back up if that is such a thing.
Also, if IDK if there was a previous issue with the heater but what should I look for if it should not work?

Car is over 210,000 miles.

I guess the first thing to do is figure out what "doesn't work" means. The fan doesn't blow, the fan blows room temp air etc.

Well first I need to find out how to reconnect this, or to even see if the heater core is equipped. Do people usually just take the cores out? All I was told is it is disconnected.

Check to see if heater hoses are hooked up. This is under the hood kind of on the drivers side. Two hoses should connect to the heater core tubes poking thru the firewall. Post a picture if you are not certain.

Heater Hose Location. Look between the brake cylinder reservoir and the back of the air cleaner. The second picture is where the two heater hoses connect to the thermostat housing. The third picture is where they connect at the firewall.

After checking the hoses, check the radiator filler and the coolant level.
check the fuse boxes for loose fuses and relays .
Is the carpet wet on the passenger side foot well?
