With that question I think I now know what the extra P is after the code. Sadly I don't recall at this point for any of the 3 codes that were showing. It seems like 2 of them were repeated with the P after them. First time with OBDII scanner.

Well, predictively problem came back. After car cools down, usually overnight, it will let me clear the codes. Will drive for a few days, then repeat. I'm thinking about cleaning the throttle body.

What came back? Just the P0641?

Check everything that says "reference 1 circuit", for connection and frayed wires and shorts etc.

Concentrate on the wires to the MAP sensor, not the MAF sensor.

Usually P0641 but sometimes P0106. I got to thinking of the wiring looking good around the MAP and remembered 1st clue that there was a problem. Went to dealer about a year ago for front bearings and went ahead and had them do recall for ignition switch. I got it back (didn't feel any tighter by the way) and wife said they bent her lever that locks the steering column. I did see that it felt a little different. Then one day key wouldn't come out of ignition. I saw there was a recall for changing out the shifter so took it in and they replaced that. Got halfway home(about 40 miles), stopped for gas, and key wouldn't come out of ignition again. Drove back to dealer. they said mechanic found a frayed after market remote start wire problem in steering column at which time I told them that after having the ignition replaced the lever was probably binding the wires. It was like "Well, hard to say because it's been awhile." I said hell with it and paid the bill (like an idiot I might add) was just glad to have it fixed. Then this stuff popped up. Of course her remote start never worked again after that. So now I'm wondering if there are wires in the steering column by that locking lever that might be throwing that P0641?

Sometimes "historic" codes need to be erased several times to get out of memory or 50 cold start cycles. But if the light was on it might be back.

Both engine light and traction control have been coming on plus reduced power and engine disabled progressively more frequent now.

Ok, latest is I decided to disconnect the neg. cable from battery for 30 min. Then I drove it to grocery store 5 miles. When I restarted CEL came on but it drove back. I checked for code. This time all it showed is P0016. Any more pointers in the continuing saga?

That usually means you need a new timing set. Plug that code into the search window at the top of the page, you'll see many results.
