2 new problems

Yesterday after work I got in my car to leave and no sound from the radio and of course no turn signal noise. I was going to the mall before the 45 mile trip home so when I got there I opened the hood and pushed all the fuses down (some were a tiny bit loose) and did the same on the fuse box in the center console. Went in the mall and came out in about 10 minutes and radio worked normally all the way home. Not sure if pushing the fuses fixed it or not . Then this morning when I got to work after driving 45 miles in a heavy downpour, i noticed just a slight bit of water on my floor mats on the passenger side. I tried feeling around under the dash, and just one small spot was a bit damp . Never done that before Of course my warranty is now expired, so I won't be taking it to the dealer unless I absolutely have to.

This might sound foolish, but if it has been a documented issue with the HHR (i.e. the water!), with a T.B. to go along with it, wouldn't the warranty become less of an issue? I'm not suggesting that GM would fix something with 2,000,000 miles on it, but the dealer has some leeway when looking at these things don't they?

That's a good question. I'm at 40,000 miles now. I seriously doubt a dealer would be willing to fix this problem under warranty, but I guess you never know. I couldn't claim a preexisting condition because this is the first time it has happened.

I just meant that it is a condition that has been noted in a few HHRs so, depending on how widespread the issue is, it may be something they will fix for you.

It's kinda like the "sandblasting" that many owners who don't have running boards experienced. As it was recognized as an issue, GM Canada made running boards standard for 2007. In fact, my salesman even told me about that problem area without me asking!

It's just that there have been looooong threads about the water issue, so it may be something where contacting your dealer or GM directly could help.

It wouldn't hurt to ask.
