2006 2.2 HHR Electrical Issue or possible Demonic Possesion
#41
Resistance from pin 6 to 14 on OBD port is 61.9 consistently with moving all harness and Connectors I could.
The RUN/CRANK relay is new and performs the same as the one it replaced.
A local GM tech suggested I watch scanner on a list he provided. All data from the list he told me to scan instantly responded as they should when key was turned to the off position.
He suggested also to remove the #25 fuse (TCM/ECM) from the cabin BCM/fuse box while vehicle was running. If didn't instantly cut off ignition, I had more steps to troubleshoot. It instantly cut the engine. However it will no longer attempt to start. Turning key just cuts accessory power, but no crank.
I assume I will find a damaged fuse. If this latest info triggers anyone's thought process, please advise

This morning the HHR starts and runs. Still has the delayed shutdown. The ECM has a pending code P0171 so I feel that it is functioning. Also it has started reseting the readiness/drive monitors.
I have "POWER STEERING" scrolling on the info screen. Power steering feels fine. I plan on removing the grounds at transmission and cleaning the stud, trans housing, and ground connections. Maybe this all comes down to something that simple.

The P0171 doesn't concern me. I mean to say, I am familiar with that code and it's repair. I am comfortable with those types of issues. I am just lost with the deeper electrical issues. Without training on how to hunt them down, I am greatful for this message board and all the PMs offering aid.
I feel the delayed ignition cutoff (or whatever the correct term is) is not debilitating condition, but rather a symptom of something else with subtle effects.
Turning the ignition off and removing the key does perform some of the desired commands like cutting power to accessories and some modules, but why it allows injectors, fuel pump, and other needed equipment to continue running the engine is just a mystery. I need to learn what finally ends those processes and maybe I can determine the delay reason.

A short in one of the sensor wires or a sensor itself could be the cause, now I’m not saying you should start replacing sensors, but investigate the ground wires and look at the sensors are the connections clean and tight? Is the sensor in it’s place and secured? Is the crankshaft bolt torqued correctly? 74 ft/lbs then another 125 degrees tightening. Sometimes it’s the simplest thing that sends the computers into a tizzy!

Well, it's still not fixed. I just sold it to a guy that is sure he knows what it is. I asked after the sale was completed if he could elaborate and he declined. I have also asked for him to update this thread if he defeats it.
Thank you all for your patience and tips with me. Happy New Year!
