2006 Any one solve this problem? Power Steering/Tansmission guages blinking
I gone through several pages of this forum and have found the same problem we have been having with our car. For no reason at all the gauges will go crazy - no powersteering - low fuel and all the gauges will bounce. The transmission jerks in out of gears. It will stop and start at any given time.
Many have had possible solutions - but no one has come back on to say problem solved.
I really love this car (other than this problem).
Side note: Did take it to dealer only to have them tell us "You have major problems". The codes are not telling us where the problem is.
Thanks for any help.

This problem continues to plague my vehicle almost daily; no known resolution to date; I have posted more details on seperate threads; but there does seem to be some relationship with movement of the harnesses to the frequency of the problem. Weather permitting, I plan to disassemble the electrical center and inspect all the harnesses as well as I can.

FWIW - Not speaking from experience but from what I have read - On the Vue, the gauges & lights will go nuts when the BCM is failing. There are plenty of cases especially in the earlier models 2002-2003. BCM replacement cures the problem.
Occasionally I have also read that the underhood grounds get corroded and cleaning them produces good results with this problem.
As a test, disconnect your battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect it. They say this will "reboot" the BCM and sometimes make the problem go away, even if only temporarily. I suppose it would make it a good test to see if your BCM is actually failing or if its some other issue?

My issue is not resolved (known cause not identified) but here's a chronology of events over the past few months:
The problem of crazy gages and random driver information notifications occurred again on 9/7/10 early in the morning it had been happening intermittently for months; but for the two weeks prior to 9/7, it had been occurring on almost a daily basis; shutting it off and restarting about 60s later seemed to resolve the problem with the exception of the T/C light which would go-away after 2-3 subsequent restarts; on 9/7 it was different, whatever I did the problem wouldn't go away (restarting, wiggling the wires around the electrical center, removing fuses/relays and re-seating them, just about everything. Since it was 5:30am and I was in the dark on the side of the highway, I resorted to 'shaking the hell' out of the electrical center; I gave it a good 'spanking' as well; Strange as it is ... the problem hasn't returned since ... not even a hint of it (now 12/31/10 and 13,000+ miles since 9/7/10); I remain convinced that there is/was an intermittent short or connection on the CAN (closed are network) communication bus that the electronics talk to each other on ... I have not dissassembled the EC; probably will if the problem recurs.
Please share any known resolution or relevant events. Thanks.
