Question 2006 chevy hhr 2.4l power steering replacement cause violent shaking in wheel??

power steering went out a couple months ago and i finally got around to switching out the motor after making sure all of the fuses were not blown or defective. After replacing the power steering motor the steering wheel now shakes violently and when trying to grab the steering wheel it will rip your arm off going left and right sporadically . Any input or help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Was the battery disconnected when you changed the EPS motor?

Why didn't you have it replaced under the recall?

Canada was slightly different wording. Reimbursement requests needed to be submitted by 1/31/2016.
There is a link in my sig to find out if your car needs any recalls. Just click on it then type your VIN.

I got motivated it is life of the vehicle regardless of ownership.

The battery was not disconnected when I replaced the motor. Should I have disconnected it?

You should always disconnect the negative terminal when replacing electrical parts, try a battery lobotomy, simply disconnect the negative terminal at the battery for ten minutes, then reconnect, carefully tighten the battery terminal clamp not to tight they do crack !

Take it to a dealer and see if they’ll fix it under that PS motor recall.
