2006 HHR Blower Motor Removal?
#12
I had to replace the resistor back in Feb. of this year due to water damage. Several weeks later the blower fan motor started skreeching whenever it was turned on. I pulled the blower motor out, uusing the diagram found on here from ChevyMgr, put a few drops of electric motor oil on the shaft under the fan cage and ran the motor for a few minutes. The motor quieted right down so I put a few more drops on the shaft and put it back together and 9 months later the fan is still quiet on all speeds.

I guess I must be slow , couldn't understand by all the posts how to actually remove the blower motor . A heads up for the next person . You actually have to cut all the way around the inner and outer cases . When you look up you can see three pairs of holes aligned for screws that should have been used at time of assembly , a hole on inner ring and the other outside the outer ring . I made 3 bridge brackets and used small screws to install the housing in place after "rebuilding" the motor . Hope this helps the next person , sure would have saved me some time .
