2006 HHR Sunroof issues
Hey guys, I searched the guide before I posted but here is what is going on and what I've done and am needing to do.
My 2006s sun roof is not working. I purchased a new one after taking the old one out a trying to bench test it. I found a wiring diagram here and has little useful info for me and my purposes. I checked all fuses; both under the hood and the box in the console, all is good there. I have no positive input at all at the switch; I assume, after some research that it is a negative signal the switch sends to the motor (not 100% on this). The red/white wire, at the motor, has 12+ to it but not other positive wire I can find. What I am hoping someone can tell me is what the purpose and polarity's are for each of the wires at the plug. I am hopeful that GM maintained the same color code from the switch to the motor; but ya never know.
Purple, black and tan on the underside of the plug at the motor
Pink, Light Green, Orange, Grey, Light Blue and Red/White - 12v +
Plug at the switch
So what I am needing is (hopefully with some details to their function):
Motor Plug

If The simple wiring diagram didn't answer all of those questions I don't know how I could help. The one I'm looking at has color codes and pin numbers and functions.
I suggest going to a professional if you can't figure which wire does what from the schematic. I don't have the patience to interpret pictures over the internet.
I don't know what you are asking for after you said "I found a wiring diagram here and has little useful info for me and my purposes". All I have is the schematics that you evidently found of no use.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have the same. I am just trying to figure out if it's positive or negative (sorry, I mistyped function when I meant whether it was positive or negative). Agreed, the functions are clear. If you look at my picture you will see the tan. Which between the diagram and actual plug, to me, appears to be in different locations. I was just hoping someone knew before I tried to put positive power to a line that needed a negative signal and possibly messing up the BCM or any of the multitude of things that can occur when you cross currents. I tend to over complicate things but better safe than sorry.

I mean ground. Sorry. I am assuming here but since the ground at the switch would appears to continue through all the remaining circuits on the diagram for the switch, that by apply ground to, say the orange wire, this should open the roof; or by applying ground to light blue, should close it to test the switch

In this image, does any know what needs to be applied to the tan wire; is it a 12v or negative single. I am assuming, again, that it is a 12v signal . Again, assuming, the Red/White and Tan need a 12v and, any of the other, just accepts a ground signal (or trigger) to make it perform it's function

There are circuit with in the switches to transfer power to open and close the sunroof and to open it in vent mode and close it from vent mode.
Check the black ground wire it’s under the left tail light, see the schematic I posted in post#3
