Oh..... That makes more sense now. I thought his first post was on 1-18-2011 saying he bought his HHR 3 weeks ago. And now today is 1-26-2011, that would have been a month of ownership. I forgot to look at the year though, I guess.

If you want it to run cooler, use synthetic oil and some Water Wetter or Coolant Boost.

Mine heats up same way...fast. Always the same with 57 k miles now, just keep overflow res full. If you hear a sloshing sound in the mornings then you need to add a little bit to solve the issue. Like others have said, there is not much coolant in this system. The remote start always runs just long enough to warm up on a cold day before leaving the house, yet it stays cool on those 100+ days here in Texas.

HHmmm, my car does the same sloshing sound throughout the day, I hear it more when I accelerate after being at a stop sign or red light, my coolant temp runs between 192 and 218, fluctuates as well, can go from 192 to 200 in under a minute and then back to 192/194 give or take. Is this normal for this vehicle????Car DOES NOT OVERHEAT

Yes, it's very normal. I think, for the most part, that everyone around here experiences those temperatures on a regular basis. I've been told that if it starts going past 230*, then there's something wrong.
