This web site is not like most. With the HHR you have a very wide range of owners. Some very techincal to some that have little tech back ground.

We have everything from Gear heads with the SS with major mods to people who a major mod may be to put a bud vase in their HHR. But they are all good people but the demographics are just a wider range than you will see on most web sites.

This often can lead to people with a wide range of dealing with problems to. Some here just jump in and fix the issue while others may not have a back ground to do so. They have to rely on the dealer with varing results do to what kind of dealer they work with.

I have also noted on other web sites more cranky people of late. Blaime the economy or bad weather I don't know.

There have been some hot button topics here, one was the brakes as you may have noticed. People tend to get emotional on this due to the amount of money they have tied up in their new vehicle and the time it is taking to get a reliable fix.

For the most part most topics here are safe and only a few might have a little bite.

Check out some of the other topics and please keep an open mind. Most here are very good and helpful people. I have learned a lot.

The topic you posted here is a very emotional one for many.

Like I said many will post what all is wrong but few people ever just post to day everything is a ok.

Like where I work I seldom here anyone contact us that every thing is good but the 3% who have issues will be sure to tell you everything wrong.

Ok we have someone who get outraged because no one replied to his post in Dec on a topic already stated in several threads and then he gets mad if you have a different view.

This web site is not here to build a court case it is to help fix issues or discuss them from your point of view.

I would think the new fix working for some would be good news to him and I would hope he would call the dealer today to fix his issue. What better advice could one give?

No one shot their mouth off they just did not say what he wanted to hear.

We can get along if you like.

I wanted to ask you a question. When they did fix your brakes did you get the Vac pump or the computer program?

Very well said hyperv6, you only left out that there are many on the site that LOVE everything HHR and do get a bit defensive when they see it being attacked. At the other end of the spectrum, there are some that "it's just a car", and have no emotional attachment. Sometimes those differences cause "spirited" conversations, but our Moderators do a good job of keeping things civil.

You are correct as web sites go things are pretty mild here compared to some auto web sites.

There are some sites it can get pretty tough. They can play some hard ball

Only problems I've had, are the parking brake occasioanlly not working, a dead battery, and the lift gate squeaks a little.

Those are not serious or worth getting upset over. All my friends drive foreign cars, they all have plenty of quality issues, and they cost an arm and a leg to fix. They still buy them ..lol

There is no need for personal attacks. This thread is going to bring out a lot of strong opinions some pro some con. Deal with it without flaming the poster or this discussion will end.

fyi: 1 year 7 months of ownership. Added rock/debris protector, Replaced 2 damaged wheels (son pulled a bonehead move) and that's it. Some get lucky some don't.

2nd fyi: I work for a dealership that is part of a group of 46 other dealerships of all makes (import and domestic) and all the dealers that are close to the size of ours do just as much, if not more, warranty work as we do. I see these numbers every day so saying that an import is better, just isn't true.

I hope nobody took my post to mean that imports are better cars then American. I love my HHR SS to death and even with the nagging issues I wouldn't think of getting rid of it. My only comment , which is based on a personal experience was that it was annoying that a friends 6 year old Honda civic with 150K miles has less rattles then my 4 month old HHR with 7K miles. My feeling is that his Honda is just screwed together better then my car.
