2010 HHR 2.2 Starter wire questions

Ok so I did a full engine swap and I think I have my starter wires messed up.

Starter has the 2 bolts holding it to the engine and two posts for wires.

Top post gets the cable from the battery and the cable to the alternator?
Bottom post gets what?

Thanks
Stephen

The bottom one has the ground strap between the solenoid and the motor.

Shouldn't have needed to touch it. Should have been hooked up in the box.

I did a full engine swap and I had to take the starter off my old engine and move it over. All that got removed before I pulled the engine out so once it was all back in the starter isnt trying to turn guess forgetting to ground it will do that.

Tonight going to try again

What donbrew is saying, is that ground shouldn't have come off. It's from the starter solenoid to the starter motor.

Ol my bad I was miss understanding. I know what wire you guys are talking about that is still on there i didn't take that one off. So no other wires go on that post? There is a loose ground wire that is part of the wiring harness looks like it is about 12" long I did forget to hook up.

Not sure how long it took to swap engines, how long it sat unused. The battery might be dead or toast.

That unused one might be the one from the top of the trans to the rad support.
