I put the battery on charge for a few hours before I tried to start it and also tried to jump start it, The key turns and I just get a single click not like a dead battery just like the starter isn't hooked up. Guessing I left something unhooked so will check tonight.

If the starter were not hooked up, it would not click. How long was the battery unused? How old is it? Your local auto parts store will load test your battery.

The click wasn't a normal starter click is was a relay or something some place I think. Right after I found this issue I found out my oil pan on the new to me engine is busted on my oil was leaking out so I was kinida pissed and just walked away. Tonight going to change oil pans and track down the wires looking the link Donbrew shared I think I might have left a few unhooked so printing the pics and going to double check all my wires tonight.

The battery is old I know I think it is the original battery I have had the car for 7 years and never replaced it and it is a 2010. I plan on getting a new one but want to make sure the new to me engine fires up and is running before I buy a battery.

The red wire to the starter is just constant 12 V. The small wire triggers the solenoid.

Use the jumper cables at the battery, not the red terminal under the hood

In these photos I'm a little confused

Item number 2 red wire from the battery?
Item number 4 is that the remote starter? I don't think I saw that wire I know I don't have anything hooked to that post on my car right now. Might be my issue.
Item number 5 small red wire that looks like it goes to the alternator?

#2 is battery cable from fuse box
#4 is the smaller gauge starter wire
#5 is the alternator connection

Okay so that would be my problem. Fully caused by me but should be a easy fix.

Thank you for that info and to everyone for helping me fix my stupidity. I knew I was in over my head with the engine swap but the car was for nothing if I wouldn't run so had to try and make it work.

#1 in the left pic goes to the alternator, # 5 in the right pic comes from batt. They both connect to the top bolt.
