2010 Trans Issue

2010 Trans Issue
I have what may sound like an odd issue with my 2010 Transmission. I went to a local store last night and locked the car when I went in. When I came out, I unlocked the car with the remote, got in and started the car. As soon as I started the car, the doors all locked(and no, I did not put the car in gear yet). After that, I was driving down the road and all of the sudden, the car seemed to be making a whining sound. I looked at the gear shift and it said it was in drive. I stopped at the light. put the car into park and when I tried to put it back in gear, it wouldn't go. About 30 seconds later, it did, but the car would not leave 1st gear(the RPM's were in the 3000-3500 range). Luckily I only had 4 miles to get home, but I did get the car into the dealer to have them look at it. As it stands, the dealer has had their transmission person try driving it twice today and they can't seem to find a problem with it. I did have the fluid and filter replaced about a month ago and everything was fine until last night.
Does anyone have an idea of what to look for(or suggest to the dealer)? I was thinking from previous reading on here that it might be a transmission solenoid, but I am not sure. I do use the car on a daily basis(bought it used a year ago and already put on 15K(it has 59K on it now)-but it is still has the drivetrain warranty, so I hope I am safe there). Also, I am not sure if it threw any codes-the CEL did not come on and when I got it to the dealer, it smelled like something was burning(or cooking)-possibly the trans fluid. Thanks in advance!

If it threw a code they will find it. I would say it sound like a electrical problem in the trans. Driving it home most likely was not the best for it but sometimes you have to go that way. The trans is covered so that is a good thing.

I just talked to the dealership and they said it did not throw a code. They are going to recheck it again this afternoon and see if it happens again. If it is electrical, I know those gremlins are alot of fun to try to track down.
