I probably won’t authorize any work. I can take it to autozone and have them do a load test on the battery. I can’t afford any big fix. Will try to do it on my own I guess.

So the dealership is saying that the diagnostics are still showing old history codes.::communication codes dealing with the ECM and BCM. Mechanic checked those wires and connections and it appears to be fine. He would have checked the fuse box and connections this morning but I don’t have time for that. I’ll do it on my own.

Question

I have the 2008 HHR LS, have the 'brains' changed at all throughout the model years. Recently I have been having the same issue where the dash just goes funky. It started as a coolant temp gauge continually going flat on me. Took it to Firestone, and they checked it out. They said they didn't think it was the gauge but an electrical problem so they didn't charge me a dime. Was just going to change the thermostat for the 3rd time in as many years til the dash problem hit. Any suggestions?

Please watch the video in post #12. He shows how to get to the connectors under the fuse box, Usually just re connecting does the fix, some dielectric grease helps.

Hi Howard, to the forums!!

What donbrew said above, also, have your battery load tested and post the voltage/amperage results up here.

The only thermostat we can recommend is (2006-2011 All Models)
