2011 HHR Hazard lights switch

If any of you have looked on the back of the waterfall, all that holds this sucker in there is two little plastic fingers.

Well, one of those fingers broke, and now the switch won't stay in the hole so that you can use it.

Has anyone run into this before? Easy fix?

I guess I could remove the waterfall (ie, remove/disconnect all the switches) and somehow "mount" this switch, but I'd love to avoid that if there is some replacement I can just snap into that existing hole that will stay there.

Thanks in advance,

Brett

You could buy a new switch.

Lots of gm online parts stores and eBay and Amazon. To find a part number got to one of the online store and find the part, Genuine GMŽ Parts | Fast Free Shipping | GMPartsOutlet.net is one of my favs. I already had the site up, so I did the work for you:

Buying a new switch will not help. It is the itty bitty fingers on the back of the waterfall that hold the switch in place that have broken.

Usually the fingers are on the switch at the top of the pic, but how about Gorilla glue or epoxy?

Yes, there ARE fingers on the switch, but those are not the fingers that hold it in place, unfortunately. The fingers that hold it in place are on the waterfall itself.

well, if you were to get down really really close, and get a pic of the little fingers holding the sides (not top/bottom) of the switch, then yes, those fingers

Gorilla Glue, Epoxy, Plumber's Goop. That's all I got short of a new face.

The blue arrows are what I think you are referring to as fingers. The red arrows are where the hazard switch is attached by 2 screws. If all that is holding yours on is the fingers, then I think you got a screw loose... er, I mean the screws may have been lost.

Do you need a new face?
