ABS and Traction control light on ?

Today when I applied my brake which was not hard just rolling to a stop sign I felt the pedel shake like the ABS was on and at the same time the ABS light and my Traction light came on, after that the brakes seemed fine no shutter after that. when I restart the car the lights are still on and the same thing happens when I apply the brake, anyone ever have this happen to your HHR, what do you think it might be? It has approx 77,000 miles on it.

Without getting the codes downloaded, anything would be a guess. The code(s) can be read at your local auto parts store, most likely for free. See if you can get the codes, and post them here - and we'll see what advice the member can give.

In the meantime, I'd be very very careful in driving that - I'm not sure if it's advisable to even drive it - does anyone else have better advice on that?????????????????

I haven't had it happen, but I'm with you Whopper. I would not drive my HHR with it acting that way. Sounds like a brake line issue.

a) check your brake fluid, if it is low that means you need new pads. (either/both conditions will cause the light).
b) could be wheel speed sensors (hub bearing bad, or disconnected wire).

I would check the front speed sensors. And have the codes pulled to see if there is a related code stored.
