ABS and Traction Control Lights

Hi I have a 2007 HHR and every time the temp gets below 25 F the ABS and traction control lights come on. Any ideas?

When my MAF sensor is disconnected my ABS and traction control comes on. Thus my first suggestion is to check your MAF connector maybe clean it then apply some dielectric compound to the connection bits.

Could be dirty MAF sensor, a failing Wheel speed sensor, water freezing up in any of a number of places.

check for loose connection or bent pin at the MAF sensor connection, does your HHR have ABS, mine does not but I still have the ABS light come on the dash at start up.
have your codes pulled and write them down and post them here, its more cost effective and we have ironed out a few issues here.

Possible causes

- Faulty Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor
- Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

What does this mean? What does this mean?

Possible symptoms

- Antilock Brake System (ABS) warning light ON

C0045 Chevrolet Description

The wheel speed sensor (WSS) receives ignition voltage from the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) and provides a DC square wave signal back to the module. As the wheel spins, the EBCM uses the frequency of the square wave signal to calculate the wheel speed.

What should I do? Get a new harness for the rear

I have had experience to simply take the connecter apart and clean it, some times its the wire itself has been caught on something and pulled.
Sometimes its internal inside the hub, you might have to replace the hub, worst case scenario. it fairly simple to replace.
