AC Fan is clicking

Has anyone else had problems with their AC fan making a clicking sound? It only does it when the fan is in the first 2 positions. The noise speeds up when the fan is turned from position 1 to 2. It's driving me nuts.

Yup. Just had mine fixed. Exact same problem. Chevy replaced fan motor under extended warranty. I had a couple damaged key fobs and a sun visor replaced also. Noise eliminated.

Thanks Michelle, I thought there might be a leaf or stem hitting the squirrel cage that was making the noise, but the tech said that wasn't the case. It helps that I know the tech that worked on my car. They did me right.

You're very welcome. Having a friend as the technician always helps. Would you like me to file a dealership compliment on your behalf?

Mine does it also. Has been that way for some time. I thought the same thing about twig or leaf in the blower fan. Took it apart and checked it out. Like yours, not the case. Nothing I cant live with for now. Seems to be a common problem for these little cars.

Mine started doing the same thing around 25,000 miles. I assumed it was a leaf or twig and never took it to the dealer. Boo! Now I'm way out of the B2b warranty.

I'd say it seems to be common. Mine was doing it when I bought it (5K miles) and I had the fan motor replaced. The noise was gone for maybe 15-20K miles and then came back. I just gave up and have lived with it since then(car has ~50K on it now).

Yep its common. Mine has been doing it since around 30,000 miles. Car has 67,000 on it now. Ive been wanting to get it fixed. So its the fan motor itself??
