AC Quit Working Today
#11
I'll second Lucky here, take a quick trip to a parts store to check for codes and have them cleared, the BCM might have become confused for some unknown reason. It also controls the engagement of the clutch on the compressor, since every time you punch the button for the A/C it actually sends an electronic "request" for clutch engagement and cycling.

I wounder if something just got freaked out by turning the a/c off and on Im not sure about the hhr but on some gm cars if there is a fault code in the pcm for the a/c system the a/c will not work untill the code is cleared. might want to make a trip to the part store and have the codes read or unhook the battery for a few min.

I am assuming that your fan is in an on position and working? If not the A/C won't run. If the fan won't run at any of the speeds, check the fuse for the fan. No fan, no A/C. I panicked one hot day when I inadvertantly turned the fan speed dial to off and nothing was happening with the A/C indicator light when I hit the button until I realized my mistake with the fan!
