Air bag light

There is a new TSB on that issue.
Are you placing your cell phone, GPS, laptop, mp3 player on your passenger seat???
If so DON'T, that is causing the problem!
I **** you not, my dealer was talking about it yesterday.

Mine just went off Monday morning for about 15 minutes steady, then on and off for about another 15, then out. Light & DIC went on when I used Auto Start & hadn't even gotten in the vehicle yet. Tuesday used the vehicle without Auto Start-no issue. Low & behold, this morning used Auto Start & the same thing as Monday but was steady for about 30min then went out the rest of my hour long trip. I made an appointment to have it looked at.
I checked under seat wiring-nothing loose or disconnected. Checked car seat cover straps-hooked onto metal loops under the seat-no interfearance to Air Bag wiring on either seat. I have nothing hooked up to 12volt sockets. No issue with passanger-didn't have one either time. Light on passanger side remained at off.

it's not weight, it's electronic interference. They don't have to be plugged in or turned on to cause problems. The problems can vary from nothing, to airbag fault light, to airbag on (as if someone is sitting there), and/or ding because nobody has buckled up as well.

The listing I see deals with voltage/current/electronic interference. Weight on the passanger seat is a different issue dealing with weight sensativity, not electronic interference.
I am hoping mine is as simple as the wires attached to the wheel bag are shorting against the plate inside the steering wheel. The dealer can pull codes that should pinpoint the issue. The codes stay in the memory for about 49 start/stop (key on/key off) cycles.
SORRY GAS MAN-I wasn't fast enough-beat me to it....
