Air Bag Light On

It seems though, if the light is still on after cleaning the pins, the problem is elsewhere. Unless one of the wires is not secured to one of the pins in the plug(s). Also, it would make it more difficult for a shop to service that part of the system in the future if it was ever necessary. You might want to remove the sea and the seat belt assembly and clean every connector you can get to see if there is a corroded connector in those areas that is the culprit.

I can't recall exactly. You either pull down on a tab in the front, squeeze a tab or pry open a tab either on the font or back. Look closely and you should be able to tell which one applies. Btw, my airbag light has never come on again since the fix. Yah baby!

Reopening an old thread:
I have the same problem with the air bag service light sporadically coming on. I would like to check all the connections first before taking the car to the repair shop.
I am looking for the "outside kick panel", which is mentioned in this thread, but cannot find it. Where is this kick panel located? The one with the yellow X211 connector inside?
And regarding checking the connectors under the driver and passenger seats: how can you do that without having a smurf at hand who's doing it for you? :-) Seriously, the only way to do that seems to move the seats forward as far as possible and then trying to squeeze oneself in, right?

The fuse box is located under the "inside" kick panel in the passenger seat feet area.
The other side of the passenger feet area is called the "outer" kick panel.
It will be the plastic trim panel just in front of the passenger door, under the dashboard corner.
(there is no small access cover like the fuse box side. Just remove the whole panel)

You have to pop the passenger door bottom trim strip off 1st, you step over this getting in the car, then pull off the lower side kick panel to access the notorious plug. Btw, mine came on again. I pulled the plug, scraped the terminal plug wires and sprayed some grease on it and worked the plug in and out several times. Drove it 10 minutes and the light went out and has stayed out. The 1st time I fixed it I did not use grease so it corroded again. Also, you have to pull up on a little tab before squeezing the yellow plug to release it.

Keep us posted on what you find. If you decide to go into the dealership we would be happy to help you set that up and work with you throughout the process!
