Anemic heater (cold tootsies)
#31
Interesting thread, I have driven mine at -35°F and either keep it on floor or floor/defrost with no complaints. It's a warm little car.
Not meaning to ask a stupid question, but are you dressing for the weather? I wouldn't dream of going anywhere in tennis shoes at this temperature, I wear my Sorels anytime it's under freezing.

It was -7 degrees F this morning on my ninety (90) mile commute to work.
I can tell you my heater works absolutely great, engine warmed up with air control setting toward the floor, fan setting on low speed and temperature control setting throttled back ccw four (4) notches from the full maximum heat setting. No defrost was necessary.

Everyone needs to remember when things go wrong they are not going to go wrong in every single HHR. It very well could of been a faulty part in mine. I can tell you that when I would turn the knob to floor absolutely nothing would come out on the floor.

Seriously though, I could actually feel a difference in temperature from my face to my body to my legs to my feet. warmer to colder. I used to be able to have my face feel like I was on a tropical island and from my shins down like I was sitting on a block of ice. No matter what the setting, I couldn't get enough heat down to my legs & feet. Ironically, its not as bad as my wife's Pontiac Torrent. That thing, I almost have to open a window to keep from burning up while my legs & feet are still cold. AND I never had this problem until I owned these two cars.

UGH I think I'd be camping out at the dealership and becoming their squeaky wheel until they fixed it or else go up the ladder.... that's just not acceptable. I wonder if somehow you have outside air coming in below. That's what it sounds like. ICK.

Well here I am seven days later still waiting for the part for the actuator in the heater box assembly. Spoke to the service department yesterday and they said that we are the first name on the list to get the part. I feel like I'm waiting for a transplant.
If the part is this hard to get why don't they just take the part of a new car and replace that part once the new one comes in?

Mrs. B/B has a blanky for her little legs, I never get cold, of course I`m always the driver...
Anyway, I think that the two dept. at a dealership are seperate, I don`t think they like taking parts off new veh. and putting them on veh. that are being serviced. sounds like bad idea to me. Hate to buy a veh. only to find out it`s already been worked on, twice.
Sometimes you have to put yourself in the other pair of shoes...
