Well, its been a long time but I finally replaced the cat con with one from OldBlue's source in Canada.

I ordered it last Monday and it came on Friday.

Here is a picture of the old one next to the new one:

My standard trans HHR has the first oxygen sensor in the manifold, the new pipe came with a plug to put in the hole. It also came with the two gaskets. All for $129 with free shipping.

Everything lined up perfectly. Of course it only took about 20 minutes on the new lift.

May just be the angle of the picture, but the new one on the left appears to be a smaller diameter piping than the old one.

Yes, it is slightly smaller.

The ID is about 1 7/8". The original was about 2".

On the new one, the flange is slipped over the pipe and welded. The original seemed to have a "formed" flange on the end, which allowed a slightly larger pipe ID.

The ZZP 2.5 inch stainless, "cobalt/Ion" is a direct fit for the 2007 HHR... It was just over $200 shipped.

It's a full legal in 48 states Catted downpipe... Ca and NY you're outta luck. Everywhere else should be no problem. (don't know about Canada's rules)

Best made unit I've ever seen and comparatively affordable considering what it is.

I wanted that ZZP down pipe, but I think for the 2.2 it’s to big a diameter, now it will wake up the 2.4
