Another Noise Problem - Need Help
#11
A bad wrist pin is a terminal condition.
When(not if), the wrist pin fails, it'll be catastrophic. Think a loud noise, followed by silence, only broken by bits of the engine bouncing up from the road and hitting the floorpan.
Drive it sparingly, drive it gently, search for a new(used)engine, and get a quote from your tech on doing a swap out.

yeah, that's what I plan on doing. I'm probably not going to drive it at all. but if I did and the engine blew, it would be the same as not driving it and changing the engine. the result would be exactly the same I would imagine.
I found a few engines around 700-750 range with about the same mileage as mine which is 140K. anybody know a place to get good used engines?

They come either by truck to your local shop or pick up at your local junkyard (may not be the actual engine you see pictured), ship to "home" is more. A 4 cylinder Ecotec only weighs around 200 LBs, maybe less, if I remember correctly.

I just bought one from a junkyard (off ebay) for 600. Said it has 18K on it. Looked like it was possible. Shipping was $90 to commercial without the need for a lift gate. 190 if I had it sent to residential and needed the use of a lift gate.
