Anybody else have this problem??
Hi everybody new here! Just bought my hhr 3 days ago not brand new pre owned and. I love it but I'm having this unusual problem that's irritating the hell out of me. When I wake up in the morning to leave for work (4am) I see mist on the winshield I hit the wipers and it dosent come off. Surre enough its on the inside?! Mind boggling to me the last past couple day its done it and today it was cold enought to be frost on the inside of the windshield?!? Any help or helpful feedback please

Welcome!
Warm air can hold more water in the air. When this air cools, the moisture in the air consolidates and in turn becomes visible...My guess is you were driving around a bunch the day before and had the inside of the car warm, then overnight it got very cold and the water consolidated and froze on the window.
Its normal in every cold climate...

You may have a water leak, feel the carpets in both the passenger and driver's footwells, pay special attention to the passenger side up under the dash.
You may have a blocked condensate drain from the A/C evaporator, or a cabin air filter that's severely blocked causing water to back up and drain inside.(The A/C is activated when you use the defrost, so there can be condensate drainage even this time of year)
This thread shows the location of the drain.....

Your owner's manual details the location and replacement info on the cabin filter.
Another possibility is a leak around the windshield, or blocked sunroof drains if your's is equipped with one.
P.S. to the forum!

I have this issue every once in a while , I changed out the cabin filter , ensured the drain was clear and this cleared the issue, pun intended, and welcome to the forum, just a thought seeing as you stated that you just picked up the HHR, could the dealer have shampooed the interior and it has not fully dried yet??

Oldblue:thanks and yeah I changed out the cabin filter and the carpets were shampoed. I'm pretty sure its fixed now didn't wake up that way today plus it threw me off a little as seats and carpet took like 3 to 4 days to fully dry from this lovely 40 degree weather here in colorado. Will have to take a look at the drain sometime this week altough I'm not sure how:-\
