mine also is doing this - 08 with 21k, kept outside. I wonder if it has something to do with the washer fluid running down the back window and onto the bowtie, as some washer fluids have alcohol which is a mild solvent.....

just a thought.....

2nd rear bow tie for me....

My 2007 hhr is at the dealership today having the headliner replaced (it's falling down).

While it's there, I'm having them order another rear bow tie as this is the second one that has failed. The first one fell apart about 6 months ago. I'm hoping that it arrives before they are done with the headliner (it took them a week to replace the fuel injectors last month).

I'm assuming that since I'll have it (the bow tie) replaced at least twice under warranty - that when it keeps failing years from now they'll keep replacing it for free.

Am I right in that assumpton? I love this little car - but am tired of taking it back to the dealership.

I've never run into any problems with the bowties, but then again it hardly ever rains here! And if it does the car is usually under cover. We have never had occasion in 4 Years to use the rear wiper or washer either, if that might be the problem messing up the bowtie.

I've had 3 new rear bow ties intalled since September '07. It's a flawed design. Moisture builds up in between the layers of the emblem. They'll keep putting them on until the warrenty is up next September. After that, I'll see how I want to handle the problem.

Emblem

Add me to the list as well 42K miles, parked outside cost 17 dollars for the emblem and took me about an hour to clean up the adhesive from the defective emblem - I too hope this is not a continuing problem!
