bought used from Carmax 44,000 miles. Carmax would cover it.....if they could duplicate it!

The problem with the rod is an 06-early 07 problem caused by an inferior design that was upgraded somewhere on the 07 models. (That's what they told me when I took ours in to get it fixed). We had ours replaced under warranty with the 'better' shifter assembly back in 2008 and haven't had any problems since. If the interlock solenoid was sticking, that was likely because of things (drinks, etc.) getting spilled into the shifter.....
