Why a dealership, they probably haven’t seen an HHR in years.

P0013, per https://www.obd-codes.com/p0013

P0014, per https://www.obd-codes.com/p0014

relate to cam solenoids for the VVT, this could also be from a stretched timing chain
the P0700 code means there is a transmission issue,

https://www.obd-codes.com/p0700

which would be the 1st shift solenoid P0973

Dealership service shop because I'm not up for pulling the engine or transmission apart
i can check for suspect looking wiring but don't know enough about analyzing and troubleshootingt the components for proper operation.

HHRJim - the P0013/14 problems are EASY to fix - about all you need is a socket set to replace those solenoids - and it is about a 15 minute job (screwdriver, ratchet with 6 inch extension and 10MM deep socket, small pair of needle-nose vice grips is what I used)
- as per: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...13-14-a-28779/

Believe me the description looks much worse than it really is. Really!!!

But that’s what we’re here for, yes the trans codes are daunting, but do the solenoids first, they might effect the othe codes, doubtful, but plausible

P0700 $ p0973 mean the 1-2 shift solenoid has low voltage. Could be a wire problem,. or need a new solenoid. Best for a transmission shop.

There is absolutely no need for a chevy dealer to do any of this work. Any competent mechanic can do it, they are generally a lot cheaper and went to the same trade schools.

Thanks
i saw a short video of the solenoids being changed on a malbu by removing the left side strut and control arm and axel to get access to the transmission and split the case. That car was in the limp mode.i don't have a lift

Transmission issue

Took the 2011 HHR to aamco and had the shift selonoids replaced. Now the transmission shifts correctly, the cruise works and the door radio speakers started working too.
And the check engine light is off
