this morn..backing out of the driveway..to the floor with the ratcheting brake pedal.
they had replaced the brake valve, i told them what the issue is, told them the bulletin number, printed out the detailed fix and left it on the passinger seat..[which isnt there now]...so 8 days in the shop and the issue remains.
3rd or 4th time in for this issue. the district lady just called, she has been aware of this, and said she will call me on mon.
if they want to purchase the car back, i would have to give it some thought.

Do you have a lemon law in NY?

Most lemon laws don't allow the vehicle to be re-sold. Many require it to be destroyed, others allow it to be sold for parts. Either way, GM loses. It would be in their best interest to give you a new car in exchange for yours. Then they can repair yours at their leisure and sell it as a used car to recoup some money.

You can also tell them you are going to contact the NTSB about this safety issue. The magic word RECALL might get them to give you a new car.

You should really push this issue before you kill yourself or someone else when the brakes fail.

What was it the TSB for the Aux Vaccume pump?

If that is all it was it will repair it fine. My dealer has it done in less than a day.

See it was really a simple and easy fix but you just needed a better dealer.

Might keep up with the TSB MGR list here. They can help you when you go into a dealer. Being informed can really help you if you happen to be dealing with a difficult dealer.

This is an example of something GM should have been on top of from the first warranty claim. Whenever I've had any work done at my dealer, I get a survey from GM on my satisfaction with the service visit. GM should have known that the same vehicle came in for the same problem more than once. Since they have a fix for the problem, they should be putting it on any vehicle that shows any sign of the problem.

Another question that comes to my mind is why do some vehicles have this problem and others don't?

Don't dealers have access to all GM service bulletins? Why should a vehicle owner have to bring in a TSB? Can't dealers contact GM about a problem they can't replicate?

The original dealer in this problem should be downsized out of GM.
