Back Up Lights

For some reason my backup lights aren't coming on when I pop it into reverse. Bulbs are fine and so is the fuse. Is there a switch that may be bad on the Trans?

My old saturn SL1 did the same thing. It was the switch on the transmission. Keep us posted.

He's right. Switch on the Tranny. Had the problem on mine initially.. Best of luck.

Could you expand on that? Thought the neutral safety switch is to only allow you to start the engine in Park or Neutral. Didn't think the reverse lights relayed through that switch.

FWIW. Visually check the wiring that goes to the transmission. Could be a loose wire or maybe just a bad connection. Maybe try unplugging and replug for a better connection. Can't hurt to try.

Where is it exactly? Do you know?

I'll try searching some diagrams I have but if anyone has a link that would help. Thanks!

Just looked up the switch on gmpartsdirect.com and it's $12.77 lol. Just need to figure out if mine is bad or not

I can send you the electrical section of the service manual in PDF form tomorrow, if you want to shoot me a PM with an e-mail address to send it to.
