Only if you have an extended warranty. They are not covered by the powertrain warranty. You might be able to get goodwill assistance if it is the column but hopefully it's something simpler anyway.

To reset the light you could also take the positive cable off the battery wait a couple seconds and then reinstall and you should be good. Done it many times.

Thanks for the tip, I had thought about that once too, then I forgot about it. So thanks for reminding me and for proving that it does work.

I'm not positive, but I'll bet the purge valve is part of the fuel pump in the fuel tank, which would explain the high cost.
