Not! You'll see why when you find the battery.

I had to have my HHR's battery replaced after letting her sit for over 2 weeks. Did a weeks worth of the jump start and let charge and the battery was still dying. Dealer replaced w/ new battery under warranty.

That's what happened with me. Dealer did what the TSB said, didn't find anything, replaced the battery. So far, so good!

Just thought I'd give ya the TSB info for them to check out. Seems like a bunch of 2006's had battery issues.

Most likely cause is as stated in the bulletin from the thread GDZHHR linked to or there is a draw higher then the allowable milliamps.

Also the battery could be nominal or at that point where it tests good, but only takes a little bit of amperage to put it past the starting threshold.

No on the honkin' battery.

This would be a conspiracy of epic perportions if found to be true. Probably be a movie about it soon.

I'm gonna throw a new bat in her when I get home if she's not taken care of by the dealer by then.

If they are jumping it when it dies and she drive it to the dealership, that probably charges the battery enough to show good (wasn't completely drained). My guess would be just the long sitting with only occasional use. My last deployment, my wife ran my truck for about a hour each week and when someone was visiting and wanted to drive it she would let them (she never drove my truck, never wanted to). It help, fired right up when I got back, but one tire was at 15 psi...... Glad they never drove it far.

My Aunt called the dealer and turns out that they jumped it, 30 minutes later it wouldn't start! So, they said they will diagnose it. She told them about the TSB and they said "Yea, we know"...If they knew, then how come they didn't try it before? So she said she is gonna send it to them anyway.

Good thing it happened there at the dealer so now I can be like "you can't just give it back to me like this!"

Does the term "Under Warranty" sound familiar?

Dealer has given me a new one twice for the same problem...suddenly dead and not driven much except on the weekend. This time we are making sure hubby drives it to work at least once a week.

I see some guys put subs and amps and watnot in their HHRs, where do they get all the power? Is it feasible to create an extra battery compartment? You know, instead of a sub-woofer or something, stick a huge truck battery back there?

Some of else put in Kinetik "batteries" it connects to the original car battery and gives it more power. Before I installed my Kinetik, the headlights danced with the music(would dim with the beat when cranked up). After, no headlight dance.
