I replaced mine for piece of mind about a year or so ago. It was hard to start one day after sitting for a week. Today's cars rarely will give you the slow start as an early sign, they just don't start one day....

One thing nice about the stick, I can at least push start it....

Was it connected to the undehood connections ? or on the actual battery by the spare tire ?

They tried both, after 30 mins I said thanks and left, I give it to the guy, he kept trying, and was confused by it not reading

I think I am just gonna wait and let the battery go when it wants too

I did that with my 1987 Mustang Gt 5 speed once. The battery had died overnight while parked in my garage. My driveway was about 100 feet long and sloped downward slightly toward the street. I started it rolling down the driveway, jumped in, popped the clutch and it started. Hope I don't have to do that with the HHR.

Hmm, odd, I had zero problems testing it, connected to the battery connections in back, not the under hood connections, though they should work too.

Not sure what type of tool was used on ChevyGrlAlways' vehicle but I doubt if the underhood connections would give usable results with a conventional load tester due to the resistance caused by the distance those connections are from the battery. The test should be conducted with the tester connected directly to the battery.
