Black Paint - Will it match?

Paint match
When we went to pick up our Sort Red it had a dent int the hood so we brought it back and they repainted the hood and I can't tell the difference. The new paint is easier to work with I think than the old multiple layered paint. Good luck though I guess it really depends on the guy with the gun (pint gun).

Well your lucky it is black . it will more than likely match the color because its black and there wont be but one maybe 2 colors in the mix. The only thing i can see not matching is the texture of the paint "orange peel" is what we call it in the body shop and it probably wont be exactly the same because more than likely they will get dirt or dus tin the paint and wet sand and buff the new hood so it should be "slicker" if that is the case. you should be fine though.

Stearns Chevrolet - What a dealer! LOL
Got the car back and it looks as well as it can. I'm pleased with what the other Chevrolet dealer was able to do. There were a couple minor spots I found that needed to be taken care of but it is ok now. The paint seems to match well - I was probably helped by the fact that the car is black and also is so new and hasn't been sitting in the sun for years fading... Since I have the car back and can name names without the fear of them doing something else to it while in their posession.... STEARNS CHEVROLET is the dealership that wrecked it. Their general manager has less of a personality than the #2 I dropped in the toilet a couple hours ago. Dick Shirley Chevy is the dealer that repaired the car and they are a top notch place to deal with. Jason in the body shop actually called me back to make sure I was still happy with everything a week or so after I took the car back. Would have been nice and courteous in my opinion if STEARNS had at least washed the car and put gas in it or something since they wrecked it... but I guess that was WAY too much to ask for...
And I guess to bring this thread to a close... I spoke to Chevrolet in Detroit. I got a claims number for my case against my dealer, etc. The lady that called said that I had a used car that was wrecked. She said it was between my dealer and myself - that they do not have any "say-so" with what goes on at dealerships. (By the way, she never contacted the GM or service mgr at the dealership, and never followed through to make sure the car was repaired - what great customer service!) After a 15 minute or so conversation I asked her if she could at least sympathize with what had happened to me. I mean I've owned nothing but Chevrolet's my whole life - I'm a car nut - one of the few out there that still parks my car at the end of every parking lot, etc. I told her that I always felt like good old Chevy would take care of me if something ever happened. She said that no one at Chevrolet cares where I park my car - and that the fact I am a diehard Chevy man does not matter either in regards to what happens to my car while at a dealership. She concluded by saying, "This case is now considered closed, is there anything else I can do for you?" My response was this, "Yes, ma'am, one more thing... please tell every person around you right now at Chevrolet to kiss my a**" That ended that as well as my relationship with Chevrolet going forward. I'm still not ready to go with a foreign make, but that piggy bank I've been throwing money into saving for a new Camaro will now be going toward a new Mustang in a year or two. I never though I'd say that.
Thanks again for everybody's remarks - and for MOST of you understanding why I got so upset over this whole ordeal. Chevrolet and Stearns did all they HAD to do but they did none of the following:
1. At least attempt to help me trade out of this car
2. Never called with an update the 2 weeks the car was being repaired
3. Didn't wash the car, put gas in it, etc.
4. Did not call me to follow up to see if things were ok after I got it back.
This is the definition of a sorry dealership and sorry manufacturer in my opinion. However, if you still want to buy a car with a bow-tie, please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from Stearns if you living the Piedmont/Burlington area of NC.
Thanks again everybody. Sorry for such a long post!

I think the fact that person on the phone was so frank with you on the phone is what upset you. How can you be upset at someone for being unsympathetic? Realize, that the issue was only between you and the party that damaged your vehicle. Do you really think that any other manufacture is going to be more sympathetic to an issue that has nothing to do with them? I really hope you'll consider Chevrolet in the future.
