Blower Motor Fuse Location?

Before I start buying blower motors and resistors and what not, I need to make sure it's just not a bad fuse. Can anyone tell me where the fuse is located? Trying to a diagram or anything. (2006 HHR) Is it under the hood, or in the console? Any help would be great...Thanks,

to the forum Chad!

The blower motor in an HHR is not separately fused, so if it's only running at one speed or not at all, you've either got yourself a bad motor resistor or motor.

The fuse locations are identified starting on page 331 of your owner's manual.

If your manual has gone missing, click the link below to load a free copy in PDF form.

And fix the butyl patch that caused the failure.

Console relay #30 appears to be a power feed for the blower motor according to the repair manual.

(not exactly sure on this since I was looking in a 2008 repair manual)

Hmmm, thanks for the help. I wonder is the motor resistor under the passenger dash as well by chance?

Yeah George, relay #30 is the power feed for the HVAC system over all of the model years, but when it fails you lose everything like compressor engagement, so my thinking is mirroring Don's. Chad probably has a leak at the butyl patch, or the start of one that has taken out the resistor.

But if his HHR has huge miles on it, blower motor failure is a possibility, the one in my '06 is getting noisy now at 314,000 miles. It's that "dry bearing" rattle that they get, so eventually it will fail.

Yes.

Both found by using "blower motor" in the search box.
