blown fuse

Found this FRIED Today when i went hunting for my No Start / No Crank problem.
Seems to be a 40 Amp BCM Fuse according to another thread on here.
Now wondering what to call it at Advance discount Auto Parts sales counter, this should be fun.
'm guessing if this fried, something else did too. But like always start here then move on to other possible BCM fuses, like in the passender front side compartment fuse Box.

2006 original HHR 2LT 2.4L, No Mods that screwed it up.

It is the main fuse for the BCM. I would try to figure out what caused a 40 amp fuse to blow. Just pull it out. I guess something made a couple of wires touch and short out.

One post is enough.

Donbrew thats what worries me too, this "just happened" without cause of any modifications.
No release clips on it either so I have no choice but to "pull" it - tried gently, now for the pliers.
Oldblue, Thanks I will buy two because if whatever caused this is still happening it surely will blow again.
Odd situation as there has not been DIC lights or OBD codes thrown. I have a simple reader.
Thanks for the suggestions gentlemen.

**Note: I did have a situation where I used an Inverter via front power port but I shut car down like an idiot. This caused me to Purchase a new Alternator (since regulator is now inside Alternator),
I installed new Alternator, serpentine belt and Battery 90/T5 650 810cca
*** I bought this vehicle used in 2016 (50K Miles) whereupon I had to change out the front hubs.
BUT the Rear Power Port and Rear Dome Light have never worked and all fuses checked at the time were good when pulled out and inspected.

The regulator is the BCM not inside the alternator. The fuse is just a 2 bladed thing.
Fuse #30 underhood for the rear seat aux power outlet. The rear overhead light switch usually melts.

Replaced the 50 Amp Fuse at the Battery Pigtail and all is well again.
Took a look at #30 and the other 40 Amp BCM fuse in the under-hood fuse panel and they are fine.
Thanks for the Reply donbrew
