Blown Strut

I was putting on the Cobalt SS front springs and found my passenger side strut is blown. Are these crappy things covered under warranty? I thinking of buying the Cobalt SS struts and slapping them in. I am not sure if it would work.

yes.
when I bought my 06 *used*, the dealer had replaced the front struts due to leakage.

They had sent it to a Chevy dealer so they would do it under warranty.

it had 32k on it at the time.

I dont know if it matters but the Cobalt SS is a different weight than the HHR thats why when I blew my struts in the front I went with the Koni-Sports instead of stock GM parts.

The Cobalt SS is 2975 and the HHR LS is 3154. I don't think the less then 200 pounds difference is going to make a difference. I already have them on order and will see. I would rather spend 2 hundred then what 4 - 5 hundred for the konis and have to modify the stock housing.

The Koni Struts for the front I got from www.tirerack.com for $365.41 incl. shipping. I'd rather spend that 1 time than $200-$300 now and $365 later. Just my opinion but try it and if it works, great you saved some money and achieved the same results. Good Luck. Let us know
