There is a blue plast ring that seems to hold the parking brake line away from the wheel. This can be seen at the front of the rear wheel wells. One came loose a while ago on my '09 SS and wacked against the rear wheel as I drove. As well the line's insulation got eaten away a bit from rubbing on the rear tire. I managed to push the blue ring back into place, but it has become free again after a few months. I will take this in to the dealer as the car is still under warrantly rather that 'fix' it this time. The only problem is that I don't want to drive the 25 miles to the dealer with the line loose and rubbing on the tire.

I figured this must be a common problem but I could find no information on this in my google searches. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Never heard of it before.

If it might hit just take a pull tie or wire and tie it off. You should have something around the house that would be suitable to do this. You only need something to hold it back like the ring.

 

Got it fixed under warranty. This blue retainer plastic ring is clearly visible in the wheel well. Just look at the parking brake cable in the wheel well. It might be only in the SS model though. Not sure. What they were at it they tightened up the hatch hinges to get rid of an annoying sqeak.
