Boost Gremlin Dead!!

Boost Gremlin Dead!!
After a bunch of frustration, i acted on the tip by Eric (gcsd3742) and called Secret Services about the boost issue, and scheduled an appointment for solder. I went in at 9:30 AMand before 11:00 AM I was on my way. NO MORE GREMLIN!! After all the problems with Eric's, they knew exactly what to do. They soldered the wires, heat shrink wrap, and re-routed the lower harness. $75!
I had three issues. A) Occasional No boost at all, performance of a lawn mower B) EXCESSIVE hesitation on acceleration, especially when turning corner C) uneven acceleration like a miss in hard throttle acceleration. All three gone.
Eric, thanks for the heads up about Secret Services, they are great. Anyone in the Houston area with an upgrade should call them to get the wires fixed. It is definetly worth it. And they do a lot of other neat stuff too!

I've had those issues to and it drove me and my dealer crazy. My car ripped the wires off the sensor from hitting the pipe. They installed a new wire connector but I am quite sure that if it happened once.......then its going to happen again. Too bad I am in New York, would love to have mine done like yours.

Hope you went to a different dealer, because if they didn't know the proceedure for using the Duraseal connectors, how could you trust them to create a weatherproof solder joint? Hope they didn't lost any strands when stripping the conductors. Did they do an inline solder joint where they mesh the strands, then tin the entire assembly or did they tin each conductor, then bring them together with the iron (or gun). Hope they stayed below 700F to prevent annealing of the copper. Hope they checked the clearance from the A/C piping as well.
I have to wonder if the latter is the issue all along. Breached conductors inside the sheath on the lower sensor are undetectable and simply repositioning them may re-establish contact. Something to think about if the Gremlin comes back.
If you get rid of the car in a year, maybe it won't matter.
I have spent a lifetime dealing with wire and cable and it seems that this subject is too generalized in this context. Prescribed methods must be utilized in order to attain predictable results.

Wouldn't hurt to call them to see if they'd mail order.... something. ECM's are easy to mail too for a tune.

So to sum it up.... I'm still running good no more boost gremlin. I'm always around 26-28PSI and running strong.....Now if they will just get my civic back in so the Magic Man Dave from Secret Services can work his magic on the civic......
