Not to pick at GM, but you'd think they would make the logo a bit more durable.

Is Chevy going to keep replacing them?
Is anyone else still having this problem?
Haven't seen any failures after replacement. I would say GM's vendor had a problem that was fixed around 2008.

Oh well the bowtie actually popped off my Lumina once. Strange thing. I slammed the hood closed, and it shot out about 4 feet. Used some JB Weld, and it's been fine ever since!

Mostly what I see is faded bowties. The gold turns silvery and makes the billions of Tahoes around here look old. I think the gold is lame anyway. Black overlays on the way for mine.

The rear Bow tie on my 06 was replaced in 08 and it's looking pretty shabby again.

Lotsa guys went to flamingdecals.com and got the stickers to put over them. Only 5 bucks in any color and for an extra buck, they put an SS logo on. I figure if it gets messed up from bugs or rocks, it's easy and cheap to replace...

Clear silicone around the edges and then sprayed it black and high gloss clear looks great a lot better then wrinkled gold on the silver anyway

Some of the bowtie issues aren't water related, more of a vendor issue with UV protection, etc of the foil. Happening on all of the exterior bowties, wheels, emblems etc. Just keep hounding the dealer even after warranty--trust me, it is not a small isolated problem. Or paint it or decal it and be done with it.

I thought that too. When the badge that tells people what brand the vehicle is, starts falling apart, it's pretty bad advertising.

My '09 has that bubbling/peeling gold foil issue on the rear emblem. Time to use that bumper to bumper to get the darned thing fixed. Poor advertising for Chevrolet when their logo looks crappy, like if they can't get THIS right, what else is wrong with the vehicle? Wonder where the part is made? Poor quality.
