Your 2010 does not use a switch like oldracer's 2007. Yours has a BPP sensor(brake pedal position). The new sensor may need to be learned.

I have a 2008 ls now. Need to change that in profile
I bought the new switch its plastic with 2 plastic prongs on it. Its held in by one bolt and a nub that goes into hole. But the plastic prongs went around a metal stud that comes off of the pedal. Is there a small bushing that goes on the stud?

Does it look like this?

Further research indicates that the 2008 model year is when the change from switch, to the sensor, was made. So you should have the sensor pictured above. No bushing.

yes. I changed that and it's still acting funny. Sometimes it works other times I have to slam on the brakes a couple times.then it will work

Sounds like a poor connection. Check the wiring.

Do the brake lights work when this happens? The cruise control will not work if the third brake light is not fully functional.
