Brake Headache
#11
Just turned over 27,000 miles on my HHR. Rotors have been turned THREE times by the dealer as of this date.
I rotated the tires last week, I pulled the caliper on the left side to take a look at pad life. To my surprize they are only about half worn. I guess I don't use the breaks to hard ????
All the above are true in your case. Doesn't GM transfer warranty coverage to second owner ? If I can get dealer to turn rotors three times you should be able to get some help ? Good luck

I was surprised when he said he changed the brakes already. It was not a Chevy Dealer, but I thought they were reputable. Well... After much hounding I found out they used aftermarket pads. The rotors were not worked on at all. I am taking it in on Monday to a Chevy Dealer to hopefully get this taken care of. I do still have the Gm warranty.
BlackHHR... Do you know why you had to replace the rotors so many times? Is this something they are finding often on the HHR?

At 25,000 Mi. don,t expect warranty coverage on aftermarket brakes. Brakes are a wear item just like tires. However the Chevy dealer should be able to repair them to be quiet, but it'll cost ya.
