Brake issues . .
I had to getmy rotors resurfaced/ground after the run-of-the-mill rough braking and sqealing. I know it's no shock, since alot of people have reported it. It was a warranty repair, but it's annoying to have a new car have its brakes replaced/repaired every 20,00 miles.
I'm just curious what everyone else has done to remedy it? I'm considering some aftermarket rotors for the front. Are there any fixes for the rear?

If memory serves me right...many have gone to the ceramic brakes I believe. You might want to check with Jeff from truckshop.com and see what he says. He seems to be quite the authority now on many things HHR.

I have 8357 mi and my rotors are warped and squeeling. The brakes aren't very good. It is the only thing so far that I have been disappointed in. I will be going in for an oil change and will have the brakes worked on then.

I had to have mine resurfaced, at about 6,000mi., no apparent reason why they were warped, I don`t ride the brakes, and they were in the OEM settings and positions.
Had them done, about 500mi. later, could hear squeal again, next oil change, told service adviser, he blamed Armor-all, stopped using (a-a), had no affect, just bad rotors...
The squeal seems to start after a short city stop-go drive.

I'd love to be able to lay off the brake pedal, but you try driving in Nashville TN during rush hour. Brakes are a necessity.
I'm sure it's just the wear and tear of my commute. the brakes hadn't made any noise until 500 miles ago, and it had gotten worse.

Guys, please give us all the details. Are you talking about HHRs with ABS? Do you have an automatic or a stick shift? Finally, do you drive in heavy bumper to bumper traffic daily?
With something like brakes, if it's a manufacturing flaw, almost everyone would have the problem. but it seems to be only a few of you. Of course, many of us haven't even reached 20,000 miles yet. I know I put a lot of brakes on my minivan but I thought is was because of the front wheel drive. I kind of expected the same from the HHR.
