Brake issues . .

Tomorrow, I'm going in for an oil change and tire rotation. I'm gonna make sure they take a look at the rotors. I did ask about it, and they told me that in the last 2 weeks, 3 have come in and needed rotors resurfaced.

I will say this at the risk of starting a debate on American vs import, but without fail, within the first year of every one of the 10 or so Chrysler, Jeep, GM and Ford vehicles, every one of them needed the rotors replaced or ground down within the first year. The one import I owned, a Mazda, in the 4 years I had it, it needed no rotor work. Calipers started ceasing on two separate occasions, but no rotor replacement or grinding.
Chevys -2, (1996, 2006)
Fords - 3, (1966, 1979, 1989)
Hondas - 4, (1988, 1994, 1995, 1999)
Mazdas - 3, (1976, 1980, 2003)
One of the Fords was a 1979 Mustang, I sold that after driving it for 13 years I sold it in 1993, still had the stock rotors on it.
So who knows.

Brake Rotors
I had to have rotors turned on my 2006 HHR at 21,500 miles. It probably really needed it at 19,500 miles.
I tried to get the dealer to replace them. They wouldn't do it. I filled out a satisifaction survey and I received a phone call about my rotors. But after
about a total of 2 hours on the phone and talking to 3 people they basically said I can trade my car in and never buy another GM product if that's what I wanted to do.
I'm 43, been driving since I was 16 and had my tires rotated at the same place that whole time and NEVER had to have rotors turned on any vehicle until now. My work commute is 24 miles one-way part city, part highway in stop and go traffic and part highway as fast as I dare.
I think the rotors on this car are crap. And I think GM knows it and has decided to pass the cost on to the customer to fix their problem. I still have about 12,000 of the original 3/36 warrnty left but they still won't replace the rotors.
Sound familier?
