Brake pedal relay click??

Brake pedal relay click??
I feel foolish in asking this, after 2yrs you would think I know this but; when the car is idling in park and you just lightly press the brake pedal, there is a noticeable relay click sound coming from the interior fuse panel. When in gear, forward or reverse, using the brake pedal does not produce this click. Is this normal, have I've always heard this? The car has been sitting for 3 wks while I gradually install two rear view cameras and I just started the car up today. First the brake pedal was mushy, but after riding a bit, that went away. That's when I noticed the loud clicking while testing the pedal for firmness. I'll post up pics of the camera install when I get a chance. Thanks for any replies.

That's part of the "Brake Shift Interlock" system you're hearing, absolutely normal, you won't hear it unless the shifter is in Park.
A mushy feel to the brakes can be caused by corrosion on the friction surfaces, sitting for three weeks is enough time to build up some surface rust and make the brakes feel "odd" until the pads and shoes burnish it off.

Bringing up an old post,but....Mine has started to click in all positions, it did this once before with a code(don't remember the #s) cleared the OBD, all problems went away. Yesterday it started doing it again, trans shifted hard for a few miles, then went to shifting normal. No codes this time, still clicking in all shift positions. Any ideas please.
Thanks Bill

scbill. You've got 2 different issues going on. The shift detent solenoid in the console may be fixing to fail.
The hard shifting is most likely the result of the CEL. Need to identify the CEL number and correct that cause.
It's doubtful that the 2 issues are related or affect one another.
